On the 6th of May 1954 watched by over 3000 people Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile. Many had tried before him and many came close to achieving it but failed.

46 days later on June 21st his rival John Landy of Australia broke Roger Bannisters record by running the mile in 3 mins 57.9 secs. the current holder Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco ran it in 3 mins 43.13 sec.

Muhammad Ali (formerly Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr ) born 17th January 1942 in Louisville and possibly the worlds greatest boxer, proclaiming "I am the greatest".
What have they in common.

Self Belief and Positive Self Talk. 

Most athletes will agree that games are played anything up to 90% in the head. Now I can't improve your basic skills, but I can improve your mental attitude to your game. using simple and easily learned techniques which will improve your mental attitude to your game. 

Performance coaching is part of every top athletes training. In any sport you must train so that your body can produce the performance expected of it. However, have you trained your mind so that you are mentally on top form and able to perform as you would wish?
I cannot help you with the training of your body or your skills, but if you have the training and the skills, I can help you train your mind so that you can produce those top performances you know you can achieve, and so you can achieve them every time. 

The difference between a good performer and a poor one is consistency and it is your mental attitude which controls your consistency of your performance. i will work on that while you work on the rest.
 
Individual Performance.
 
Many games rely on individual performance. here the player is in control of their own destiny. Mental blocks and personal self doubt can destroy an otherwise excellent performance. Has your "best" game ever been ruined by a flash of self doubt, or by the idea that you cannot do well? Or by the idea that you cannot do so well? Has the realisation that if you continue you will produce your worst performance to date ever spoiled your game?

Team Games. 

In team games the whole team must perform well to attain good results, but equally all members of the team must individually, perform to their very best abilities. I can help both the individual team members and the team as a whole to perform at their very best and can ensure that they maintain this performance game after game.
 

Most coaches will agree about the importance of mental attitude when it comes to performance so why are they not spending as much time on developing their mental skills for competitions as they do their physical skills. 

Maybe nobody has showed them how!
